I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be interviewing Samra Habib about her book We Have Always Been Here tonight at 6pm EDT. Follow this link to register and watch the live interview. I recently read this lovely memoir because it was @thegirlybookclub selection for April. It is a Canada Reads finalist about a young Muslim girl’s struggle to find herself and be herself as she flees with her traditional Pakistani family to Canada for safety. Samra Habib is an activist and photographer that has spent most of her career documenting the stories of queer Muslims across the globe and has finally told her own story. Simply put, it was eye opening, moving, and inspiring.
